The Circle: Celebrating Songwriters at Café Blanca Eau Claire

The Circle is a unique performance event and community opportunity for new, emerging songwriters and appreciators of new and classic songwriting. The Circle concept will take the conventional “Songwriters Circle” format in a fresh, new direction and will also provide a unique opportunity for songwriters to support other songwriters through community participation and financial support. The Circle will focus on creating a new audience for local songwriters through their performances of original music, and also through performances of cover tunes from classic songwriters like Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, and Paul Simon, just to name a few.

The Circle will be hosted by Frederick Tamagi and will feature 2 other emerging songwriters in a unique, collaborative format where all 3 artists will perform their own original songs and classic cover songs as an informal, organic ensemble. Songwriters and musicians in the audience will be inspired by a new collaborative form, and non-musician appreciators in the audience will be exposed to new local songwriters as well as creative versions of their favourite, classic cover tunes. Frederick will facilitate dialogue, stories, and history from the participating songwriters and even the audience.

The Circle will take place on the 1st Wednesday of each month at the beautiful Café Blanca (240 Riverfront Avenue SW, Eau Claire district), 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. There is a $10 community cover, which will go directly to artist compensation and venue rental.
