What is your wish for 2017?
That with the help of all my dear friends I may shine with a pure, clear light—like a little candle burning in the night—and that you will do the same—and your neighbor as well—that together we will keep on shining until poverty, hunger, illness, loneliness and blindness of soul will be overcome and all our spirits lifted up to see the goodness, wonder and joy of all that is truly sacred.

Which musical instrument reflects your personality the most?
Electric guitar (with effects/processing): It’s flexible/versatile—with tasteful settings and playing styles, the electric guitar can enhance almost any musical piece. I often seem to experience emotion as if it were a blistering, searing, soaring, even gut-wrenching guitar solo which pulls every last nuance of joy or pain or longing out of the depths of my soul—until, as the last note fades away, there’s simply nothing more that can be said.

If you could have coffee with anyone, who would it be?
Coffee with a celebrity hero might not afford enough time for anything beyond the typical gush…gush…can I please have your autograph drivel superstars graciously endure on a regular basis. Quality time with a legendary songwriter such as Mark Knopfler, Bono or Bruce Cockburn would be an invaluable learning experience.

If you were a food, what would you be and why?
A good salad (not just a bowl of lettuce): Fresh, natural, tasty, crisp and good for you. If life were to anoint me with oil or pour vinegar on me, I would become neither arrogant nor angry – I would only get better/tastier. Most importantly, I would serve as the perfect appetizer to encourage enthusiastic anticipation of the main course.

What is something you couldn’t go without?
The experience of seeing the kindness, love, joy, beauty and wonder of the Divine in everyday people.
